Denmark Fashion in the 1600's
Fashion in the 1600 period in Denmark was characterized by broad lace and collars and waistlines rose through this period with men and women. Other notable fashion trends were slashed sleeves, tall or broad hats with brims. The silhouette was also very famous at this time which was essentially close to the body with tight sleeves and a low pointed waist. Fabrics and patterns were very bold in this period of time. Elaborate patterns which were woven or embroidered were popular. All the women would wear was dresses and in my opinion that would of been so uncomfortable. The women would wear corsets underneath their garments to shape their stomachs. To about 1613, hair was worn feathered high over the forehead. Married women wore their hair in a linen cap, often with lace trim. Men would often wear tall hats. Men would wear linen shirts with big sleeves and full cuffs. They would wear breeches which were the kind of pants they wore back then, with tall narrow boots with turn-over tops.
